Despite the cancellation of the ice wall venue and slideshows, the Canmore Ice Climbing Festival will continue to run clinics to support the growth of mixed and ice climbing in the local area. This is a great opportunity for both beginners and intermediate/advanced to hone their techniques and gain valuable experience with knowledgeable guides.The schedule of clinics is as follows. With regret Yamnuska Inc. has decided to cancel this year’s Canmore Ice Climbing Festival.

This is the result of an accumulation of issues that were adding incremental challenges to operating this year’s festival.

It is terribly important to us that we do the very best possible job in operating this festival; this year in particular we wanted to begin to improve the quality of the festival en-route to becoming a major attraction for Canmore. Feeling that we were increasingly likely to fall short we have decided to cancel rather than have a sub-standard Festival.

Looking to the future we would like to see the Canmore Ice Climbing Festival resurrected in a sustainable form and return to being a great contribution to the local ice climbing community.

Finally I would like to thank you the participants and volunteers for your support and help these past two years, it made the Canmore Ice Climbing Festival possible!
